Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MPI-485520 is a preclinical-stage small molecule modulator of the interferon pathway, originally developed by Myriad Pharmaceuticals and later managed by its spin-off, Myrexis. The compound was designed to treat various autoimmune diseases by regulating the signaling pathways activated by interferons, which are often overexpressed or dysregulated in conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus. Development of the asset was halted when Myrexis decided to suspend its research and development activities in early 2012 to explore strategic alternatives, eventually leading to the company's liquidation and the discontinuation of its internal pipeline.
