Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MPO-IN-28 (also known as Compound 28) is a potent, small molecule, irreversible inhibitor of myeloperoxidase (MPO) with an IC50 of 44 nM. Characterized by the chemical formula C11H13N5O and CAS number 37836-90-1, it is primarily utilized as a research tool in preclinical studies to investigate the role of MPO in inflammatory and oxidative stress-related conditions. The compound effectively inhibits MPO-mediated low-density lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation with an IC50 of 90 nM. Research has explored its potential therapeutic effects in alleviating neuroinflammation, atherosclerosis, vascular inflammation, and cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. MPO-IN-28 is currently available only as a research chemical and is not approved for human use, nor is it associated with a specific pharmaceutical development program.
