Overview

MPS-214 is an orally bioavailable, small-molecule multi-kinase inhibitor developed by the Fondazione Ricerca Traslazionale (FoRT). It is designed to target several key pathways involved in tumor growth, survival, and resistance, specifically inhibiting the Hepatocyte Growth Factor Receptor (MET), Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2 (VEGFR2), and AXL receptor tyrosine kinase. By simultaneously targeting these kinases, MPS-214 aims to overcome resistance to EGFR inhibitors in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), where MET amplification and AXL activation are common bypass mechanisms. Preclinical data have shown significant anti-angiogenic and anti-proliferative effects, leading to its evaluation in Phase 1 clinical trials for patients with advanced solid tumors, including NSCLC.
