MPT0B640 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90), developed for its potential antineoplastic (anticancer) activity. By inhibiting Hsp90, a molecular chaperone involved in the stabilization and function of multiple oncogenic proteins, MPT0B640 disrupts several signaling pathways essential for tumor cell survival and proliferation. Preclinical studies have shown that MPT0B640 induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in various glioma cell lines, downregulates pro-survival kinases such as phospho-Akt, p-ERK1/2, and p-S6, and effectively crosses the blood-brain barrier. The drug has demonstrated potent antitumor activity against genetically heterogeneous gliomas in vitro and is being investigated primarily for oncology indications[1][2][4][5].
