Drug intelligence / Profile preview
mQβ is a **mutant bacteriophage Qβ virus-like particle platform** being developed by Iaso Therapeutics as an immunogenic carrier and vaccine scaffold rather than a single fixed therapeutic product. The biologic is based on engineered bacteriophage Qβ capsid particles and is designed to enhance immune responses against weakly immunogenic antigens by displaying or conjugating diverse payloads such as small molecules, carbohydrates, peptides, proteins, polysaccharides, and glycoproteins. Preclinical work has explored mQβ-based candidates for antibacterial vaccines including *Staphylococcus aureus* and MRSA, cancer vaccines, opioid vaccines targeting heroin and morphine, and COVID-19 vaccines. Its principal function is to serve as a highly immunogenic virus-like particle carrier that promotes stronger antigen-specific antibody responses.
