Overview

MQ710 is an investigational oncolytic immunotherapy based on a modified vaccinia virus Ankara (MVA) vector engineered with deletion of the viral E5R gene and to express the immunostimulatory proteins Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3L) and OX40 ligand (OX40L). By infecting tumor cells and locally producing Flt3L and OX40L, MQ710 is designed to promote dendritic cell differentiation and activation, enhance co-stimulation of T cells, reduce regulatory T-cell–mediated immunosuppression, and thereby drive a robust anti-tumor T-cell response within the tumor microenvironment.[4][8][11] It is administered by intratumoral injection and is being developed primarily for advanced and refractory solid tumors, including a range of cutaneous and nodal malignancies, as monotherapy and in combination with the PD-1 inhibitor pembrolizumab.[3][5][6][9][10] The drug was initially developed by Imvaq Therapeutics and is being clinically studied at centers such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.[8][3][10]
