Overview

MQI-201 is a first-in-class, naked monoclonal antibody designed to target the TRPV6 (Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 6) calcium channel, an oncogenic driver frequently overexpressed in solid tumors. Developed by MabQi, MQI-201 is engineered to modulate the tumor microenvironment (TME), effectively converting "cold" tumors—such as those found in prostate and pancreatic cancers—into "hot," immune-active tumors. Its mechanism of action involves inducing tumor cell apoptosis and promoting the recruitment of cytotoxic immune cells, including CD8+ T cells and Natural Killer (NK) cells, while simultaneously reducing the presence of immunosuppressive M2 macrophages. Preclinical studies have demonstrated significant tumor growth inhibition across multiple models, including hormone-resistant prostate cancer and pancreatic cancer, showing superiority over standard-of-care treatments like gemcitabine.
