Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MR-MC-01 is a cell therapy consisting of human embryonic stem cell (hESC)-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). It is being developed by Medytox for the treatment of interstitial cystitis (IC), also known as bladder pain syndrome. Unlike adult tissue-derived MSCs, hESC-derived MSCs offer a more consistent and scalable source of cells with high proliferative capacity. The therapy aims to alleviate the chronic inflammation and tissue damage associated with IC by leveraging the immunomodulatory and regenerative properties of MSCs, potentially repairing the bladder lining and reducing pain symptoms.
