Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mr. Strong is an oral analgesic and stimulant combination medication developed and manufactured by CAPS Holdings, a leading pharmaceutical company in Zimbabwe. Formulated as a capsule, it is primarily indicated for the relief of mild-to-moderate pain, headaches, and fatigue, and is frequently marketed as a "restorative" or "pick-me-up." The formulation typically contains a combination of aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), paracetamol (acetaminophen), and caffeine. Aspirin and paracetamol provide analgesic and antipyretic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins. Caffeine acts as a central nervous system stimulant and an analgesic adjuvant by antagonizing adenosine receptors, which helps to increase alertness, enhance the efficacy of the pain-relieving components, and counteract drowsiness associated with pain or illness.
