Overview

**MR16-1** is a rat-derived monoclonal antibody that specifically targets the mouse interleukin-6 receptor (IL-6R). It functions as an antagonist by blocking the binding of IL-6 to its receptor, thereby inhibiting IL-6-mediated signaling pathways. MR16-1 is widely used in preclinical research to elucidate the pathophysiological role of IL-6 in various mouse disease models, including autoimmune disease, cardiac hypertrophy, fibrosis, aortitis, neuropathic pain, muscle regeneration, nephritis, and models of CNS and inflammatory disorders. It acts via immune modulation and is not intended for use in humans.
