Overview

MR24 is a selective small molecule inhibitor of the mammalian STE20-like kinases MST3 (STK24) and MST4 (STK26). Developed as a derivative of the kinase inhibitor G-5555, MR24 demonstrates high potency against MST3 (EC50 = 57 nM) and MST4 (EC50 = 583 nM), while maintaining significant selectivity over the related kinases MST1 and MST2. By inhibiting these kinases, MR24 induces G1 phase cell cycle arrest in treated cells. It is primarily utilized as a chemical probe in oncology research to investigate the signaling pathways and oncogenic roles of MST3 and MST4 in breast, liver, and lung cancers. Currently, MR24 is available exclusively as a research-use-only (RUO) reagent and is not intended for clinical application or human use.
