Overview

MRM-CV1 is an investigational high-density lipoprotein (HDL) mimetic developed by Zylem Biosciences for the treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). The therapeutic is engineered using an apolipoprotein A-I (ApoA-I) scaffold, designed to replicate the functional properties of endogenous HDL in promoting reverse cholesterol transport. MRM-CV1 specifically targets the scavenger receptor class B type 1 (SR-B1), facilitating the removal of excess cholesterol from peripheral tissues and atherosclerotic plaques for transport to the liver. By enhancing the body's natural lipid clearance mechanisms, the drug aims to stabilize or regress atherosclerotic lesions. Zylem Biosciences plans to initiate recruitment for Phase 1 clinical trials in 2026.
