MRM-OT1 is a preclinical-stage high-density lipoprotein (HDL) mimic being developed by Zylem Biosciences for the treatment of various ocular surface conditions. The drug acts as an agonist of the Scavenger Receptor Class B Type 1 (SR-B1), a receptor involved in lipid transport and anti-inflammatory signaling. By mimicking the structure and function of natural HDL, MRM-OT1 aims to promote corneal wound healing and reduce inflammation. Its primary indications include dry eye disease, atopic keratoconjunctivitis, bacterial keratitis, and chemical or thermal eye injuries, as well as supporting post-surgical recovery and contact lens wear comfort.
