Overview
mRNA-1045 is an investigational combination vaccine developed by Moderna for the prevention of influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections. It is an mRNA-based therapeutic vaccine administered via intramuscular injection. The vaccine encodes antigens from both influenza virus (hemagglutinin glycoproteins) and RSV (F protein), aiming to stimulate the immune system to produce protective antibodies against these pathogens. As of early 2025, mRNA-1045 is in Phase 2 clinical development for influenza and Phase 1 for RSV infections[1][4][2][5]. The approach leverages Moderna’s proprietary messenger RNA technology platform.
