Drug intelligence / Profile preview
mRNA-1073 is a combination mRNA vaccine developed by Moderna that targets both SARS-CoV-2 and seasonal influenza. It is a co-formulation of Moderna's quadrivalent influenza vaccine candidate (mRNA-1010) and its COVID-19 vaccine (mRNA-1273). The vaccine utilizes lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology to deliver mRNA encoding the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 and the hemagglutinin (HA) proteins of four seasonal influenza strains (A/H1N1, A/H3N2, B/Yamagata, and B/Victoria). It is designed to provide simultaneous protection against both respiratory viruses in a single injection, potentially improving vaccination compliance and public health efficiency.
