Overview
mRNA-1345 + Fluzone HD refers to the concomitant administration of Moderna's mRNA-1345 (mRESVIA) and Sanofi's Fluzone High-Dose (HD) Quadrivalent vaccine. mRNA-1345 is an mRNA-based vaccine encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles that encodes for the stabilized pre-fusion F glycoprotein of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), designed to prevent lower respiratory tract disease. Fluzone HD is an inactivated quadrivalent influenza vaccine containing 60 µg of hemagglutinin per strain (four times the dose of standard influenza vaccines), specifically indicated for adults aged 65 and older to provide enhanced protection against seasonal influenza. The co-administration of these two vaccines is being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials (e.g., NCT06060457) to assess safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity compared to sequential administration in the elderly population.
