mRNA-1975 is an investigational heptavalent mRNA-based vaccine developed to prevent Lyme disease. It is designed to induce the production of antibodies against the four major Borrelia species responsible for causing Lyme disease in both the United States and Europe. The vaccine uses messenger RNA (mRNA) technology, similar to that used in Moderna's COVID-19 vaccines, encoding antigens from multiple Borrelia species to stimulate an immune response.
