The mRNA HPV cancer vaccine is an investigational immunotherapy being developed by LEVATIO Therapeutics, a subsidiary of ST Pharm. This vaccine utilizes messenger RNA (mRNA) technology to deliver genetic instructions for the expression of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) E6 and E7 oncoproteins. These proteins are critical for the maintenance of the malignant phenotype in HPV-associated cancers, such as cervical cancer and certain head and neck cancers. By expressing these antigens in vivo, the vaccine is designed to prime the host's immune system, particularly cytotoxic T lymphocytes, to recognize and destroy HPV-positive tumor cells. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development and leverages LEVATIO's expertise in both linear and circular mRNA (cmRNA) platforms.
