Drug intelligence / Profile preview
mRNA-LNP osteoarthritis is a preclinical-stage mRNA-based therapeutic being developed by SirtLab for the treatment of osteoarthritis. The therapy utilizes lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery technology to deliver messenger RNA (mRNA) encoding Sirtuin 6 (SIRT6) directly to joint tissues. SIRT6 is a key longevity-associated protein that plays a critical role in DNA repair, metabolic regulation, and reducing inflammation. By restoring or elevating SIRT6 expression in aging or damaged chondrocytes, the therapy aims to alleviate cellular senescence, reduce joint inflammation, and promote cartilage regeneration, offering a potential disease-modifying treatment for osteoarthritis.
