Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The mRNA RSV vaccine is an investigational messenger RNA-based vaccine candidate developed by Ningbo Rong'an Biological Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of AIM Vaccine. This vaccine is designed to prevent Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infection by delivering mRNA that encodes for a viral antigen, typically the prefusion form of the RSV fusion (F) protein. Upon administration, the recipient's cells use the mRNA instructions to produce the viral antigen, which then stimulates the immune system to generate neutralizing antibodies and cellular immune responses against the virus. As of 2024, the candidate is in Phase 1 clinical development.
