Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**MRT5401** is an investigational monovalent mRNA-based influenza vaccine candidate encoding the hemagglutinin (HA) protein of the A/H3N2 strain. It utilizes lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery with a distinct LNP formulation compared to MRT5400, developed by Sanofi and Translate Bio to elicit robust immune responses against seasonal influenza. Preclinical data showed promising safety and immunogenicity, and it advanced to Phase 1 trials evaluating safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity in healthy adults aged 18-49, with interim Phase 1/2 results from related studies demonstrating high neutralizing antibody seroconversion rates (91-100%) and favorable tolerability.[1][3][7]
