Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MRX-6LDT is a preclinical-stage transdermal patch being developed by MEDRx for the treatment of chronic pain. The product utilizes MEDRx's proprietary Ionic Liquid Transdermal System (ILTS) technology to deliver a combination of lidocaine and diclofenac. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that works by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels, thereby inhibiting the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses. Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits the enzymes cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), reducing the synthesis of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins. The ILTS technology is designed to improve the solubility and skin permeability of these active ingredients, aiming to provide effective localized pain relief with minimal systemic exposure and side effects.
