Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MRX1 is an investigational, patent‑pending oral solution formulation of cannabidiol (CBD) being developed by Ananda Pharma as a regulated prescription medicine for complex chronic inflammatory pain conditions, including chemotherapy‑induced peripheral neuropathy and endometriosis‑associated pain, and is also being explored preclinically for cardioprotective effects in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).[2][3][5][6][7][14] It is manufactured to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards as an investigational medicinal product for use in Phase 1 pharmacokinetic studies in healthy volunteers and Phase 2 randomized controlled trials in pain indications, distinguishing it from unlicensed “medical cannabis oils” by its standardized composition, quality, and regulatory pathway.[2][6][7][12][14] In preclinical HFpEF models, MRX1 demonstrated good oral bioavailability and anti‑hypertensive, anti‑hypertrophic, and anti‑fibrotic activity with reduction in markers of cardiac stress and fibrosis, supporting broader exploration of CBD’s multimodal anti‑inflammatory and cardioprotective pharmacology in addition to its established neuromodulatory and analgesic properties.[3][6]
