MS-19-16 is a preclinical-stage small molecule developed by Azadyne for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. It functions as a queuine analog and serves as a substrate for the enzyme queuine tRNA ribosyltransferase (QTRT). This enzyme is responsible for the post-transcriptional modification of specific tRNAs, replacing a guanine residue with queuine to form queuosine. By modulating tRNA queuosine-related biology, MS-19-16 aims to regulate protein translation and cellular signaling pathways that are dysregulated in autoimmune conditions. The drug is part of Azadyne's pipeline exploiting the QTRT enzyme pathway to address unmet needs in immunology.
