MS-19-16 is a preclinical-stage small molecule developed by Azadyne for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. It functions as a queuine analog and serves as a substrate for the enzyme queuine tRNA ribosyltransferase (QTRT). This enzyme is responsible for the post-transcriptional modification of specific tRNAs, replacing a guanine residue with queuine to form queuosine. By modulating tRNA queuosine-related biology, MS-19-16 aims to regulate protein translation and cellular signaling pathways that are dysregulated in autoimmune conditions.
