Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MSB-6005 is an investigational live biotherapeutic product (LBP) developed by MatriSys Biosciences for the treatment of Netherton syndrome and rosacea. The therapy is based on the company's proprietary platform that utilizes beneficial commensal skin bacteria to restore the natural balance of the skin microbiome and displace pathogenic organisms. In patients with Netherton syndrome—a rare and severe genetic skin disorder characterized by a defective skin barrier and chronic inflammation—MSB-6005 aims to address microbial dysbiosis and reduce the risk of secondary infections, particularly those caused by *Staphylococcus aureus*. By reintroducing healthy commensals, the treatment seeks to improve skin barrier function and mitigate inflammatory symptoms. MSB-6005 is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for Netherton syndrome and in preclinical stages for the treatment of rosacea.
