MSC-Apceth is an autologous cell therapy consisting of GMP-manufactured, ex-vivo expanded CD34-negative, non-hematopoietic bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Developed by Apceth GmbH & Co. KG, it is designed to treat critical limb ischemia (CLI) and advanced peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD). The therapy leverages the proangiogenic and tissue-regenerative properties of MSCs to promote the formation of new blood vessels in ischemic tissues. It has been evaluated in a Phase I/II clinical trial (NCT01351610) where it was administered intravenously following percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA).
