Biocells Medical is developing an allogeneic mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived exosome therapy for the treatment of progressive multiple sclerosis. These exosomes are purified, sterile, acellular extracellular vesicles (30-150 nm) isolated from the culture supernatant of GLP-manufactured human bone-marrow-derived MSCs. The therapy aims to reduce neuroinflammation, decrease brain lesion burden, and slow disability progression by delivering bioactive molecules that modulate the immune response and promote neuroprotection. It is currently being evaluated in an Early Phase 1 clinical trial to assess safety, tolerability, and efficacy in adults with progressive MS.
