Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MSC-NTF exosomes are an **exosome-based biologic therapy** derived from MSC-NTF cells, the neurotrophic factor-secreting mesenchymal stem cell product generated from bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells using Brainstorm Cell Therapeutics' proprietary NurOwn process. These small extracellular vesicles, reported to have a median size of about 114 nm, carry bioactive cargo that mediates **immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects**, including inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interferon gamma and tumor necrosis factor alpha. The product has been described in preclinical development as a potential therapy for inflammatory conditions including **COVID-19-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome**, and is best understood as a cell-derived extracellular vesicle therapeutic related to but distinct from the parent MSC-NTF cell therapy.
