Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**MSC-OVV-mIL33** is a preclinical mesenchymal stem cell-mediated delivery product containing an oncolytic vaccinia virus engineered to express murine interleukin-33. The mesenchymal stem cell carrier is intended to shield the virus from neutralization and improve tumor delivery, while intratumoral viral replication promotes tumor-cell lysis and local IL-33 expression remodels the tumor immune microenvironment. In murine PD-1 inhibitor-resistant bladder cancer models, MSC-OVV-mIL33 combined with PD-1 blockade increased cytotoxic CD8-positive T-cell, memory B-cell, and type 2 innate lymphoid cell infiltration while reducing regulatory T cells and terminally exhausted CD8-positive T cells. The program was reported by Guangxi Medical University Cancer Hospital and Genvira Biosciences in an AACR 2026 abstract.
