mSCF CAR is a ligand-based Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) designed to target c-kit (CD117) using its cognate ligand, stem cell factor (SCF). This CAR is utilized to modify gamma delta (γδ) T cells, enabling them to recognize and kill c-kit-expressing malignant cells. It is being investigated as a potential allogeneic, off-the-shelf therapeutic strategy for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a condition where high c-kit expression is associated with chemotherapy resistance and poor prognosis. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in vitro against c-kit+ AML cell lines.
