MSCOhi-O lenses are a novel combination therapeutic product consisting of umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UCMSCs) integrated into high oxygen-permeable hydrogel contact lenses. Developed by Guangdong ProCapZoom Biosciences Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Sun Yat-Sen University, this therapy is specifically designed for the treatment of chronic ocular graft-versus-host disease (coGVHD). The hydrogel lens serves as a delivery and scaffold system that ensures the long-term retention of UCMSCs on the ocular surface, allowing the cells to exert sustained immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects. By suppressing donor T-cell responses and reducing corneal inflammation and damage, MSCOhi-O lenses aim to provide an etiological treatment for coGVHD, a condition for which there are currently no approved pharmacological therapies.
