Overview

MSD AH refers to a series of preclinical drug candidates developed by XL-protein in collaboration with MSD Animal Health (the veterinary division of Merck & Co.). These assets utilize XL-protein's proprietary PASylation technology, which involves the genetic fusion of a therapeutic protein or peptide with a conformationally disordered polypeptide chain consisting of Proline, Alanine, and Serine (PAS). This modification increases the hydrodynamic volume of the molecule, significantly reducing renal clearance and extending its plasma half-life without the need for chemical PEGylation. As of the 2018 pipeline, multiple programs were under development for undisclosed veterinary indications, leveraging the PASylation platform to improve the dosing frequency and efficacy of animal health therapeutics.
