Overview

MsNK cells are glycoengineered natural killer (NK) cells derived from umbilical cord blood (UCB). They are metabolically engineered to express CD22 ligands on their cell surface using a modified sialic acid derivative called MPB-sia1. This modification enables MsNK cells to selectively bind to and eliminate CD22-positive B-cell lymphoma and leukemia cells. The therapy is designed as an off-the-shelf product, leveraging the inherent ability of NK cells to distinguish and kill cancer cells without requiring antigen presentation or inducing graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). MsNK cells have shown enhanced cytotoxicity against CD22-positive cancer cells in preclinical models and have demonstrated safety and some efficacy in a Phase 1 clinical trial for B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
