MSP-4018

MSP-4018 is a next-generation psychedelic small-molecule drug inspired by N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) and 5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (5-MeO-DMT), designed as a serotonin 5-HT1A and 5-HT2A receptor agonist with potential applications in neurological and psychiatric disorders.[12][6][10] Developed by Mindset Pharma as part of its “Family 4” series of optimized tryptamine analogues, MSP-4018 has shown preclinical proof-of-concept with strong efficacy in mouse head-twitch assays and an improved safety profile versus 5-MeO-DMT, including preservation of locomotor and rearing behavior and absence of 5-HT syndrome signals at a range of doses.[1][4][8][16] The compound is intended to provide a safer, more scalable psychedelic therapeutic with controlled psychedelic activity and reduced adverse effects compared with first-generation DMT/5-MeO-DMT compounds.[1][12][16]
