Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MSP008-22 is a first-in-class new chemical entity (NCE) being developed as an oral small molecule drug with both antiviral and anticancer properties. It is designed to inhibit both viral entry and replication, showing broad-spectrum antiviral potential in preclinical studies, including activity against COVID-19. In oncology, MSP008-22 targets treatment-resistant cancer cells and has demonstrated promising efficacy in preclinical models of difficult-to-treat cancers such as triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, head and neck cancer, and advanced solid tumors. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy in healthy volunteers as well as patients with advanced cancers[1][3][4][5].
