Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**MSV-allo** is an investigational, allogeneic bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cell therapy developed in Spain for inflammatory, autoimmune, musculoskeletal, pulmonary, and ophthalmic indications. The product contains expanded donor-derived mesenchymal stromal cells administered as a cell suspension, with route tailored to the indication, including intravenous infusion, intra-articular injection, and intravitreal injection. Its therapeutic rationale is the broad paracrine immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, tissue-repair, and potentially neuroprotective activity of mesenchymal stromal cells rather than inhibition or activation of one defined molecular target. MSV-allo has been studied in knee osteoarthritis, severe COVID-19 pneumonia with acute respiratory failure, lupus nephritis, and acute non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy. A lupus nephritis study is listed in CTIS as an ongoing integrated Phase II/III trial. ([itrt.es](https://www.itrt.es/en/knee-arthritis-treated-mesenchymal-stem-cells/))
