Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MSV-crio is a cryopreserved mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy developed by the Instituto de Terapia Regenerativa Tisular (ITRT) for the treatment of osteoarthritis. The product consists of cultured mesenchymal cells (CMC) that are cryopreserved to facilitate storage and clinical application. MSV-crio works by secreting a variety of paracrine factors, including cytokines and growth factors, which modulate the inflammatory environment of the joint and promote the repair of damaged cartilage tissue. Although formal clinical trials have concluded, the therapy is currently accessible in Spain through individual patient authorizations granted by the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) under the hospital exemption regulatory framework.
