MT-108

MT-108 is a small molecule drug developed by Morphic Therapeutic. It acts as a potent and selective antagonist of the integrin α4β7, which plays a key role in lymphocyte trafficking to gut-associated lymphoid tissue. By inhibiting α4β7, MT-108 prevents the migration of immune cells into gut tissues such as Peyer’s patches, thereby reducing inflammation—a mechanism relevant for treating inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Preclinical studies have shown that MT-108 increases lymphocyte velocity and flux in the gut, with efficacy comparable to monoclonal antibody therapies like vedolizumab. The drug is being explored as an oral therapy for IBD and other immune-mediated digestive system disorders[1][7].
