MT-1207 is a novel, orally active small molecule developed as a multitarget antihypertensive agent. It acts as a potent antagonist of adrenergic α1 (including α1A, α1B, and α1D subtypes) and serotonin 5-HT2A receptors with picomolar potency. Additionally, it exhibits calcium channel blocking activity. Preclinical studies demonstrated that MT-1207 effectively reduces blood pressure in animal models without significant renal toxicity or postural hypotension risk. Clinical trials in China have shown that the drug is well tolerated and produces dose-dependent reductions in blood pressure in both healthy volunteers and patients with hypertension[1][2][4][6][9]. The compound has also shown potential for kidney protection by reducing serum uric acid levels in hypertensive models[6].
