Overview

MT-202 is a small molecule dual agonist targeting G protein-coupled receptor 119 (GPR119) and free fatty acid receptor 1 (GPR40/FFAR1), currently in preclinical development by Curacle for the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), also known as metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). As part of Curacle's metabolic therapy (MT) pipeline, MT-202 is designed to address the complex metabolic and inflammatory components of NASH. By stimulating both GPR119 and GPR40, the drug aims to improve glucose metabolism, reduce hepatic fat accumulation, and mitigate liver inflammation and fibrosis. The dual-action mechanism is intended to provide superior efficacy over single-target agents in managing the multifaceted pathophysiology of metabolic liver diseases.
