Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MT-251 is a monoclonal antibody developed by Mirador Therapeutics that targets Tumor Necrosis Factor-like Ligand 1A (TL1A), also known as TNFSF15. TL1A is a key mediator in the pathogenesis of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMID), particularly those involving the gastrointestinal tract and skin, where it promotes inflammation and tissue fibrosis by binding to Death Receptor 3 (DR3). By antagonizing TL1A, MT-251 aims to modulate T-cell-mediated immune responses and inhibit the pro-fibrotic pathways associated with chronic inflammation. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers, with a primary focus on developing precision therapies for conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease.
