MT-2990

MT-2990 is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets interleukin-33 (IL-33). It is being developed by Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma for the treatment of pain and immune-mediated diseases. The drug acts as an interleukin-33 (IL-33) inhibitor, blocking the activity of this cytokine involved in inflammatory and immune responses. Its primary indications under investigation include pain (notably endometriosis-related pain) and antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis, such as Churg-Strauss syndrome, granulomatosis with polyangiitis, and microscopic polyangiitis. Clinical development has reached phase II for pain and phase I for vasculitis. Development for autoimmune disorders, general inflammation, and seasonal allergic rhinitis has been discontinued[1][2][5].
