Overview

MT‑Immucillin-H is a synthetic small molecule and a transition-state analogue inhibitor of purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNP). It is structurally related to Immucillin-H but features a methylthio group. The compound mimics the transition state of the PNP-catalyzed reaction and binds tightly to the enzyme’s active site. By inhibiting PNP activity, it disrupts purine metabolism—an effect that can suppress T-cell proliferation and has been investigated for potential immunosuppressive or anticancer applications. Its primary use remains experimental.
