Overview

MT1009 is a synthetic peptide drug candidate developed by Shaanxi Micot Technology for the treatment of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIOP). It acts as an agonist of the parathyroid hormone receptor 1 (PTHR1), a key regulator of bone metabolism. By activating PTHR1, MT1009 stimulates osteoblast activity and promotes bone formation, thereby counteracting the rapid bone loss and increased fracture risk associated with long-term glucocorticoid therapy. The drug is designed using Micot's proprietary peptide technology to optimize its anabolic window and therapeutic index. It is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials in China to establish its safety and efficacy profile in patients with bone density loss.
