Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**MT104** is an orally administered dietary supplement developed by Mthera Pharma for mild cognitive impairment. It contains Cuscuta seeds and heat-killed probiotics and is intended to support cognition through modulation of the microbiota-gut-brain axis. Mthera Pharma describes its proposed biology as inhibition of phosphorylated tau together with activation of postsynaptic density protein 95 and brain-derived neurotrophic factor pathways. In a 12-week multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in patients with mild cognitive impairment, MT104 improved Seoul Verbal Learning Test delayed-recall performance versus placebo; Korean-Montreal Cognitive Assessment improvement was also reported in the per-protocol population, without significant safety findings.
