Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MT1988 is a novel, fixed-dose combination of two small molecules designed for the treatment of Cognitive Impairment Associated with Schizophrenia (CIAS). Developed by Monument Therapeutics, the drug targets nicotinic receptors and was identified through a precision neuroscience approach focusing on latent inhibition, a cognitive process that is often disrupted in patients with schizophrenia. Preclinical data indicated that MT1988 could significantly improve cognitive function. The drug entered clinical development in a first-in-human Phase I study (trial identifier BDD23342) conducted by BDD Pharma to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in healthy volunteers.
