MT942 (also known as ABT13107) is a thermo-responsive medical device developed by Medytox for the prevention of intrauterine adhesions (IUAs) following hysteroscopic surgery. The device is a sol-gel formulation composed of non-animal derived hyaluronic acid and synthetic poloxamers. It is designed to be a liquid at room temperature, allowing for easy application into the uterine cavity, and transitions into a viscous, adhesive gel at body temperature. This gel acts as a physical barrier that separates injured endometrial surfaces during the healing process, thereby preventing the formation of post-surgical adhesions. In clinical trials, MT942 has demonstrated non-inferiority to existing adhesion barriers, such as Hyalobarrier Gel Endo, in reducing the incidence of adhesions after surgical procedures.
