Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MTA Plus is a bioactive calcium silicate-based endodontic cement developed by Avalon Biomed and manufactured by Prevest DenPro. It is composed of a fine-powder tricalcium silicate that, when mixed with a water-based gel or liquid, forms a biocompatible material used for vital pulp therapy, root-end filling, and the repair of root perforations. The material is characterized by its ability to release calcium ions and maintain an alkaline pH, which stimulates the formation of hydroxyapatite and induces the development of a mineralized dentin bridge. MTA Plus is distinguished from traditional MTA formulations by its finer particle size, which improves handling and allows for use as both a thick cement and a thinner sealer. It is indicated for procedures in both primary and permanent teeth, including pulpotomy, apexification, and direct pulp capping.
