Overview

MTB-1806 is a small molecule inhibitor of 15-lipoxygenase-2 (15-LOX-2) being developed by Bio Genuine for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). 15-LOX-2 (also known as ALOX15B) is an enzyme that oxygenates polyunsaturated fatty acids, and its upregulation in the brain following ischemia is associated with neuronal death and inflammation. By inhibiting this enzyme, MTB-1806 is intended to exert neuroprotective effects and reduce secondary brain injury, thereby improving clinical outcomes in patients suffering from acute ischemic stroke.
