Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MTC-I (also referred to as MTC-Ins) is a transdermal insulin formulation developed by Biotts for the treatment of diabetes. The drug utilizes Biotts' proprietary MTC-Y (Multicomponent Transport System) technology, a skin-permeation-enhancing platform designed to enable the systemic delivery of large therapeutic molecules, such as peptides and proteins, through the skin. By providing a non-invasive alternative to traditional subcutaneous insulin injections, MTC-I aims to improve patient compliance and glycemic control. The program has advanced from preclinical development into Phase 1 clinical trials, where it is administered via a transdermal patch.
